Steph’s true passion is social history and she’s looking forward to uncovering many exciting stories that will bring the hidden history of North Shields into the spot light.

Steph holds a BA (Hons) in Culture and Society with a PGCE in post compulsory education. She teaches sociology and humanities to college age students based at Tyne Met College where she is an Academic Mentor, teaching Sociology to Foundation Degree students.

Steph is also a passionate ice hockey player/coach and is a current member of Team GB Women’s ice hockey, recently achieving a silver medal at the 2019 Women’s World Championships Division 2A. She’s also assistant captain for Team GB Women’s Street Hockey Team.

We are looking for volunteer researchers to join our existing team and help find the stories that will be central to our exciting new project.

We are also looking for some whizz kids that love new technology to help us create some amazing digital content.
