** UPDATE: FULLY BOOKED **
We are hosting a guided walk through Preston Cemetery, North Shields on Sunday 22nd June. Cost will be £3 per person.
The walk will start at 1pm at the main gates of the cemetery (off Walton Ave, North Shields NE29 9NJ).
There have been some amazing people throughout North Shields’ 800 year history – this walk and talk by Dave Young and Keith Spedding will focus on ‘Graves of the Brave’.
The walk and talk will cover stories such as Edward Jennings VC, Victor Noble Rainbird, Thomas Brown, Robert Renoldson, the wreck of the Stanley ….. and many many more!
It will last about 90 minutes and we recommend that you wear ‘sensible shoes’ as some parts of the walk might be over grass and not necessarily follow the hard pathways.
If you can’t manage the full walk and talk, you are welcome to ‘dip out’ at any point – there’s no pressure to complete it!
There is plenty of parking at the main entrance and toilets are available along the route.
If you’d like to join us please email heritologists@gmail.com to reserve your place.
£3 per person (cash) payable on the day please.
