After 40 years working as an architect and sustainability consultant, Stuart is now retired.

After moving to North Shields he began volunteering at, and then became a Trustee of the Old Low Light Heritage Centre on the Fish Quay.

Stuart has also taken up music and is a member of Bay Uke, a community ukulele group which plays at local events.

Stuart has become very interested in the social history of the area and its people. He is looking forward to getting involved in the North Shields Heritology Project and exploring the life and struggles of the ordinary people that lived in and visited North Shields.
