Two Talks towards Freedom

We are delighted that Labour MP for Newcastle upon Tyne Central, Shadow Minister Digital, Science & Technology, Chi Onwurah agreed to introduce this video for us.

Part 1 of 2 stories made to celebrate Black History in the Heritage Action Zone of North Shields thanks to funding from Historic England.

This is the story of Frederick Douglass, an escaped slave who visited and spoke at the Baptist Church on Howard Street in North Shields.
